How to Add WooCommerce Product Brands in JSON-LD?
Squirrly SEO is compatible with WooCommerce and the WooCommerce add-ons.
The WooCommerce JSON-LD settings are in Squirrly > Technical SEO > Rich Snippets > WooCommerce. Squirrly uses the WooCommerce product categories (or the primary category you pick) to create the Breadcrumbs List schema of a product.
Squirrly fills the product brand in this order. Each step replaces the one before it.
- With Add Default Data for Woocommerce Products turned on (it’s off by default), Squirrly uses the product category name as the brand.
- With Add Custom Data for WooCommerce Products turned on (on by default), the Brand Name field replaces it. You fill that field in the Advanced tab of the WooCommerce product data box when you edit the product.
- If the product has a brand in WooCommerce Brands, part of WooCommerce since version 9.6, Squirrly uses it.
- If you use YITH WooCommerce Brands Add-On or Perfect WooCommerce Brands, Squirrly uses the brands you set there for the product. In that case the Brand Name field isn’t shown.
So for custom brands in WooCommerce products, fill the Brand Name field, use WooCommerce Brands or use one of those two brand plugins. The schema prints each brand as a Brand with a name, the format Google reads.
The {{product_brand}} pattern reads the Brand Name field first, then the primary category, then WooCommerce Brands and the two brand plugins.
