Why doesn’t the GEO Audit run, or why does it fail?
A GEO Audit fails when Squirrly’s crawler can’t read your pages, and a failed audit doesn’t use any audit credits.
What you see and what to do
| What you see | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Every page shows “Could not create the audit for this URL (error code: …)” | Your host or a firewall blocks the crawler | Ask your host to whitelist the crawler IP 5.161.83.61 |
| Only some pages show the error | A firewall or security filter blocked those requests for a while | Click Stop Monitoring on those pages, add them again and request a new audit |
| “You’ve made too many requests, you can request one page audit per hour.” | The page went to the audit less than an hour ago | Request it again after an hour |
| “Audit not ready yet” | The first audit after you add pages is still running | Come back later |
| “You reached the maximum number of audit pages for your account.” | Your plan has no audit pages left | Click Stop Monitoring on a page you no longer need |
Whitelist the crawler
The message in Squirrly asks you to whitelist the crawler IPs “even if they are not blocked”. Send the IP 5.161.83.61 to your host and ask them to allow it in the server firewall and any security plugin.
